They started 3 years ago, the raised eyebrows and the frightened looks( like I was a spy sent here or something). Every new person I meet and I go through the same conversation:
Hi my name's[random paki name]
Pleased to meet you I'm Mashoud.
Where are you from?
America- Land of the free and Brave
Achaa.. So how long have you been here?
7 Years..
[Audible Gasp, double take, followed by a look filled with awe and pity in equal measures]
So what do you think about Pakistan?
And that are just the starting questions.. They don't stop talking about their damn Country!!
Similarly bizarre is the oft-repeated notion that everyone in Pk is *lowering tone, almost whispering* "Running from Something". This place really gives me the creeps I've been living here for about 7 and a Half years now but I still haven't gotten used to this place.. And of course the ominous Voices and footsteps behind me when I'm walking alone to the local bakery at night*shudders* I'll be leaving soon in about a year or two and before I leave I just hope that te people here would stop looking at me funny..
Ok now for something off topic.. Have you ever noticed that the song STRONGER by kanye west aha lyrics from the famous Daft PunK song Harder,Better,Faster,Stronger..
